Civil Engineer

Despite current global challenges, our pipelines have never been better, meaning the medium to long term outlook is particularly strong. Due to this, we have an immediate need to add a Civil Engineer to our European team with projects in Denmark and Sweden.

Salary: €60,000 – €75,000

Job Type: Permanent

Despite current global challenges, our pipelines have never been better, meaning the medium to long term outlook is particularly strong. Due to this, we have an immediate need to add a Civil Engineer to our European team with projects in Denmark and Sweden.

You will work on a variety of projects, including data centres, Substations, large industrial developments and electrical infrastructure projects. The projects we work with are diverse and you will join a rapidly expanding specialist team.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Management of all surveying and setting out of works on the project, including detailed as built drawings used for final handover and for substantiation of commercial claims.
  • Proposal of construction materials required and technical submittals of materials for client approval.
  • Doing measures and take offs of materials required and procurement of same.
  • Ensuring all information and materials are available so works can be completed as per construction programme.
  • Providing up to date progress information to management.
  • Raising technical queries and request for information to the client/design team.
  • Documenting any changes of scope or variations and raising with management.
  • Maintaining daily records of materials, labour and plant being used to complete works Quality Inspections, ensuring the works are being completed to the relevant standards and specifications.
  • Completing Quality assurance checksheets, benchmarks, Inspection and test plans.
  • Resolving any issues or delays.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of all areas of construction methods.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working as Civil Engineer on similar projects.
  • Proficiency in Setting out using Total Station, GPS, Dumpy and Laser levels
  • Proficiency in civil engineering project management software, Microsoft applications, Civil 3D, AutoCad, 3D Model Software such as Navisworks
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering and construction specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Good leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Superb mathematical, time-management, and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Open, positive, can-do attitude which builds confidence and credibility both within the team and stakeholders.
  • Full, clean driving license.
